It is my great honor and pleasure to announce that as of January 2013, the Asian Association of World Historians has its own journal, the Asian Review of World Historians. Also I am extremely delighted to announce that the third international congress will be held at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore in May 2015.
I am sure that this new journal will act as forum for scholars on world historical studies in and for the Asian region, including the Pacific and West Asia. The scholarship of world history has been dominated by Eurocentrist perspectives for too long. As the globalization of the world progresses, Asian perspectives have attracted many historians because the historical importance of Asia has reemerged. This journal will provide the world with the voices of Asian interpretations of world history and contribute to more balanced world historical studies.
By examining historical problems in changes over time, this journal seeks the participation of those who identify themselves as 'global', 'world', 'transregional', 'comparative', 'international', or 'big' historians, and all others with interest in a 'connected' study of the past. This scholarly community will strive to transcend traditional boundaries and dichotomies as a forum for interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary conversations across a wide variety of social and natural sciences and collaboration of historians with scholars in adjoining disciplines, including and with global historical scholars in all parts of the world.
